okay-the rm of corsair is not the right choice imo as i have had an issue-maybe one higher like the ax,axi or see if EVGA has something good as the psu is the most integral part imo. that drive is awesome-im getting one soon to test. 64g will be awesome if you can convert some to a turbo drive(virtual) but thats a topic for another day. performance on sli will not give what a ti can do unless you are a top of the line graphics designer.more a bandwidth increase and yes the Ti according to research should not be based on the current 1080 GPU parameters due to AMDs mystery new card. i would also go 7th gen for the new instructions as the x99 is already 1.5years old.

The 6950x does perform better, but it's 4 times the price. It doesn't perform 4 times better.

this is the monitor i am going with 28" Asus MG28UQ, 3840x2160, 60Hz, TN, Adaptive Sync , i know there are better however Mrs Stub does not want me to have a big curved monitor in the dining room (where my pc is located)!

i have also taken on board what people have said here and with the custom build i have chosen the following:

Asus ROG Maximus IX Formula - with CrossChill EK II, SupremeFX audio, Aura Lighting and Intel LAN

Intel Core i7 7700K, Kaby Lake, Quad Core with Hyperthreading, 4.2GHz, 4.5GHz Turbo [Overclocked - CPU professionally overclocked to 4.8GHz]

Corsair Hydro H115i cooler with SP140L fans

32GB (4x8GB) Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz

2 x 12GB NVIDIA TITAN X, 1417MHz GPU, 3584 Cores, 10010MHz GDDR5X - GeForce GTX VR Ready (installed SLI)

EVGA Pro HB SLI Bridge - recommended for 120Hz/4K or higher gaming.

750W Corsair RMi, Modular, Silent, 80PLUS Gold - Dual GPU

1TB Samsung 960 Evo, PCIe Gen3 x4, NVMe, up to 3200MB/s Read, 1900MB/s Write, 380K IOPS

Asus DRW-24D5MT - 24x DVD Reader & Writer

Corsair ML140 PRO, Premium Magnetic Levitation, PWM

Avermedia Live Gamer HD C985 Lite, 1080p In Game Capture

now, due to the cost this has to last me which is why i might have gone over the top on a couple of things! i noted the comments on the PSU but from scan, the choices are limited!

i want to order this week so your feedback would be more than welcome (as i bow to all your experience in these types of things)!

including the VAT, this all amounts to £5063.00 (custom build by scan) i did look at PC Specialist but they dont have good reviews!

lol Stubbs. What's your infatuation with sli?
A lot of games don't support sli, so you would need to disable one to play them.
One Titan X is plenty, put the money away that you would have spent on a 2nd card and maybe upgrade the GPU in 2 years time.

will i still be able to play BF3 and 4 (obviously BF1 but without shouting it out) with my cards in SLI, i have to be honest i dont get why having the faster connection should stop games?

@Noodles, nothing, just high on life! i work like a dog and want to have something to show for it!

Sometimes games do not utilize the drivers on both cards optimally.
You may never have a problems with them, but it can be a headache if you do.
Titan X's are one of the best cards on the markets at the moment...at the moment.
I understand you're trying ti future proof your PC, but unless your're running multiple screens 2 Titan X's is overkill.
GPU software/architecture is constantly changing, so if it was me I would get one Titan X now, its more than enough with your set up, and save money. And upgrade the GPU in a few years.
Up to you mate.
